About Us

 

Double sharp training is run by Richard Payne who has nearly 10 years experience running Sibelius courses for a variety of audiences with a particular focus on education. Richard is currently working freelance as a music technology consultant specialising in Sibelius. Previously he worked for Sibelius Software Ltd. (latterly Avid Technology) for nine years.

 

Richard has run many Inset days for both classroom and instrumental teachers in the UK. He has also presented regularly at shows such as BETT and educational music conferences such as NAME & SSAT, introducing Sibelius and other Primary and Secondary music software products to promote best practice use of music technology in schools. 

 

Richard studied at Bristol University gaining a BA (Hons) in Music specialising in composition. He is now a published composer, pianist and trumpet player, involved in local orchestras and groups around London. He is also an instrumental and theory teacher in the Hertfordshire area.
